PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The site was previously a Texaco Filling Station with a small Star Shop; it had jet wash and car wash facilities. As part of the Azure Properties Golden Gate Somerfield rollout programme, the site was partially redeveloped.
The existing shop, car wash and jet wash were demolished and a new steel-framed composite panel Somerfield Standard Shop, floor area 280m2, was erected on a reinforced concrete raft.
The project included the installation of two new 60,000 litre underground fuel storage tanks, new fuel pipework, pump islands, pumps, petrol interceptor, associated ducts, drainage and new forecourt paving.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Broham Forecourts were the main & principal contractor and co-ordinated other trade packages (steel work, fuel distribution system, electrical installation) appointed by the client. Broham Forecourts appointed domestic sub-contractors for internal partitions, suspended ceilings to the shop and road markings.
