Woodbanks, Sheffield

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The site was previously an Esso Filling Station which was decommissioned, demolished and fenced of some time prior to our works commencing.

The project was to build a new petrol filling station with a large steel-framed composite-panel Somerfield Shop, floor area 320m2. It included the installation of two new 60,000 litre underground fuel storage tanks, new fuel pipework, pump islands, fuel pumps, petrol interceptor, associated ducts and drainage new forecourt paving and canopy.

The building & canopy superstructure was built off 175mm steel cased driven piles and a heavily reinforced concrete raft & pile caps. Retaining walls where constructed comprising of 3.00m high pre-cast concrete sections to the rear and side of the new building and a 400mm thick natural stone retaining wall to the road elevation.

The shop was fitted out complete to Somerfield specification.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Broham Forecourts were the Principal Contractor and co-ordinated other trade packages (piling, steel work, fuel distribution system, electrical installation, shop fit out complete signage) appointed by the client. Broham Forecourts appointed domestic sub-contractors for internal partitions to the shop, asphalt paving and line marking.
